Domestic
In addition to seasonal direct flights to Kalamata International Airport (KLX) from select destinations abroad, daily flights from Athens to Kalamata are scheduled to start as of May 2010.
Aegean Airlines, the largest airline in Greece accepted as a future member of the Star Alliance network, will offer daily flights between Athens and Kalamata at times providing convenient connections to guests arriving from, and departing to major European hubs. Also, Aegean Airlines offers flights three times per week between Thessaloniki and Kalamata.
Sky Express currently operates year-round domestic flights connecting Kalamata with Heraklion in Crete.
European
During the summer 2010 season, Thomas Cook and Viking Airlines will operate seasonal direct flights to Kalamata from the United Kingdom (London & Manchester), while SAS will operate flights to Kalamata from Oslo, as well as Transavia and Arkefly from Amsterdam.
Air Berlin is scheduled to fly directly to Kalamata from Nuremberg as of May 2010, at times allowing for convenient connections with feeder flights from Hamburg, Berlin, Dusseldorf, Vienna and London.
As of May 2010, TUIfly will also offer weekly flights to Kalamata from Franfurt, Munich and Hanover.
Visitors traveling by air from most European destinations should be able to check their luggage from their airport of departure all the way through to Kalamata, irrespective of any connecting flights, by simply specifying the airport code of their final destination (KLX).
