The building footprint at Costa Navarino will be less than 10% of the total land area. design is based on the principles of bioclimatic architecture and is fully aligned with the area's traditional architectural style.
Energy
100% renewable electrical energy through the development of a prototype 22MW photovoltaic system (under permit). minimization of energy consumption for cooling and heating, using a combination of sea-water circulation and a state-of-the-art geothermal installation placed underneath the golf course.
Preservation of the landscape
6,500 olive and 2,000 citrus and other trees have been preserved through an extensive on-site replanting program, upon completion, at least 16,000 olive and more than 8,000 citrus and other trees will be replanted
Preservation of biodiversity & habitats
Upgrade of the river Sellas wetlands by removing non-native reed beds and seeding native plants to enrich the local flora, extensive monitoring and protection program for the African chameleon and the sea turtle Caretta-Caretta
Social responsibility
Promotion of local culture, education, support of local businesses and products, creation of new jobs, building of infrastructure for the local communities, contribution to the protection of the area from natural disasters and funding of activities aimed at the welfare of Messinia
