Make Trees Come True!

Costa Navarino and Aegean Airlines - in support of the United Nations Environment Program led Billion Tree Campaign - invite you to participate in a tree planting story! Make trees come true in Messinia, Greece and have the opportunity to win a journey to the prime sustainable destination in the Mediterranean.

Our story begins in Messinia, an unspoiled, still accessible Greek region located in the southwest of Peloponnese. Spread over the roots of mount Taygetos, Messinia overlooks the deep blue Mediterranean sea. With your help, we will be planting thousands of trees there. Becoming part of this story requires a little effort from your side, but it will be of great benefit to Messinia.

The first thing you need to do is fill in your details - click here to get started. You will then be asked to fill in your friends' details and invite them to help you by providing water, soil and fertilizer. Once you have three friends on board, we will temporarily plant your tree in our nursery garden. Then we will ask you one question; the correct answer will help us transplant your tree to the Costa Navarino Forest as well as plant it for real in Taygetos mountain, Greece, where it will live for hundreds of years. But your involvement should not stop here; you need to monitor and assist your tree's growth by inviting more friends to pledge their support, acquiring more knowledge about the area of Messinia and asking your friends to visit your tree in the Costa Navarino Forest.

At the end of our story, the tallest 1000 trees will feature on them the name of their owner. If your tree is in the top 500, you will enter a ballot and 5 of you will win a 5-day trip for two if your country of origin is within Europe or a 7-day trip for two if you live overseas, to witness firsthand how the story started. The prize includes accommodation and air travel for two people.

In support of the United Nations Environment Programme-led Billion Tree Campaign, Costa Navarino and Aegean Airlines are making trees come true whilst preserving and increasing Messinia's natural beauty and heritage. The support provided by the Forestry Department of Kalamata in Messinia, is significant since it will be donating the trees to be planted. Our happy ending is to make Messinia an even greener place.
